Siding, trim, soffits, fascia, shutters, and doors — washed, scraped, sanded, and primed before a single finish coat goes on. Southern Oregon is hard on exteriors, so we pick coatings that can take the heat.

Most failed exterior paint jobs didn’t fail because of the paint. Here’s what happens before we open a can.
Pressure or soft wash to strip dirt, chalking, mildew, and wildfire smoke residue.
Every loose or peeling edge feathered back to sound material.
Rotted trim, failed caulk joints, and damaged siding addressed before paint hides them.
Gaps at windows, doors, and trim sealed to keep water out of the wall.
Bare wood and stained areas spot-primed for adhesion and stain blocking.
Two coats of UV- and moisture-resistant product, applied in the right temperature window.
Oregon requires any paid contractor doing home improvement work to hold an active CCB license. Ours is #232891, and you can verify it yourself in about ten seconds.
Surface | Prep focus | Typical repaint interval |
|---|---|---|
Wood lap siding | Scrape, sand, spot-prime bare wood, seal end grain | 7–10 years |
Hardie / fiber cement | Wash, recaulk joints, check factory finish adhesion | 10–15 years |
Stucco | Patch hairline cracks, masonry primer, elastomeric options | 8–12 years |
Cedar shingle / shake | Clean, evaluate stain vs. paint, watch tannin bleed | 5–8 years (stain) |
Brick | Clean, confirm breathability, mineral or masonry coating | 15+ years |
Late spring through early fall is the working window here. We watch for two things: surface temperature during July and August heat, when siding can get too hot for proper film formation, and late-summer smoke, which leaves a residue that has to come off before paint goes on. South and west-facing walls take the worst UV load in the valley and are usually the first to fade — worth noting when you’re deciding whether it’s time.
Grants Pass has a wide mix of housing, from craftsman-era homes near downtown to newer builds off Redwood Highway and cedar-sided properties in the surrounding hills. Each needs a different prep and product approach, which is why we walk the property before quoting rather than pricing by square foot over the phone.
A factory-smooth kitchen finish without a remodel.
Walls, ceilings, trim, and doors, with your home fully protected.
Offices, retail, churches, schools, and multi-unit properties across Southern Oregon.
Stain and paint that keep sun and rain out of your outdoor wood.
We provide professional exterior painting services throughout Grants Pass and the surrounding Rogue Valley, serving homes and businesses across Josephine and Jackson counties.

Very impressed with Good Neighbor Painting. They completed a large project at my place of work, and the quality of their work, professionalism, and attention to detail really stood out. The owner was great to work with, and his crew was hardworking, respectful, and reliable. I was so impressed with the results that I decided to have them paint my own home as well—and they did not disappoint. The work was excellent from start to finish, and the entire experience was professional and hassle-free. It says a lot when you’re so impressed with a company’s work at your workplace to trust them with your own home. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for quality painting work, competitive pricing, and a crew you can count on!Posted on Google![]()
